USA Today Reports Record-Breaking Fireworks Display Planned for America’s 250th Anniversary
According to a recent report from USA Today, Freedom 250, organizers of the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration, are planning what they hope will be the largest fireworks display in history, to be produced by the nation’s largest fireworks provider, Pyrotecnico. The Fourth of July 2026 event, part of the yearlong America250 celebration, is expected to transform the National Mall in Washington, D.C., with an unprecedented fireworks spectacle designed to commemorate the country’s semiquincentennial.
USA Today reports that organizers are pursuing a world-record fireworks display, with plans calling for hundreds of thousands of fireworks to be launched during a display that is planned to last approximately 40 minutes. The celebration is expected to draw visitors from across the country and serve as one of the signature events marking 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
